I Like Beer

Remember the country song entitled "I Like Beer" written and recorded by Tom T. Hall? I do. My mother was (is?) a great fan of country music. I, therefore, listened to and enjoyed it as I grew up. Still do.

There ain't nothing like a good country song to make you appreciate the simpler things, the finer things in life. Umm.... sure.

That fellow, Tom T. Hall? Also of "Old Dogs, Children, and Watermelon Wine" fame? Were you aware he wrote the classic country hit "Harper Valley PTA" sung by Jeannie C. Riley in 1968? Oh! His sappy sweet "I Love": "And Iiiiiiiiiiii loooooooooove you-oo toooooooooooo!"

Ack. This has turned into an "I Love Tom T. Hall" fiesta. How the hell did that happen? Really not my intention. But memories are good.

Honestly, I started out just thinking about how much I like beer.

So.
There ya go.

Oh the memories! I remember Tom T Hall and John Denver playing on the cassette recorder, laying down on sleeping bags in the back of the station wagon, on our way to visit Grandma J in Montana. Does it get any redneckier (I know that is NOT a word)?
My favorite was Sneaky Snake, and aren't they all sneaky? This does explain my love of beer though. It is all Tom T Halls fault that I drink to much!

When I think of Country and Beer Songs I always think of the one that goes:
"There's a tear in my beer, and I'm crying for ya dear.."

Jack, indeed I know that one. We have a CD with Two Nice Girls singing that song:
"... nothing made me more sick
than a hairy chested cheap double breasted suit,
a man with a hard d*ck"
That song is a hoot.

And a warm how-do to all the other beer lovers. I'll give you all a toast tonight when I'm hoisting a cold frothy one.

Kristina, welcome. I look forward to you sharing your wit! :)
